ESLA Family Newsletter, October 15, 2018
Just a little bite-sized newsletter for your perusal this week!
As always, your agenda from today until the end of reality as we know it is embedded below. Remember, you can always check the ESLA Agenda on this site by navigating to “My ESLA” > “ESLA Agenda” or simply plugging es-la.com/agenda into your navigation bar.
Class is canceled this Friday, October 19! We have a major conflict with a pre-school event at First Pres., so we’ve bumped up the faculty work day originally scheduled for next week. This means there will be class next Friday, October 26! We sincerely apologize for the late switcheroo, but this is the best workaround we could manage. We understand this may cause some very real scheduling concerns for some families. Please reach out to Peter McCormack, Interim Head of School, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have serious conflicts.
Sixth Graders, Skirballin’!
Coyotes en el bario
The coyote is a springy, fleet-footed creature, known for its incredible court vision and wicked serve.
In related news, The Varsity Girls Volleyball Team, under the tutelage of Coach Z., is on the cusp of making the CIF playoffs in its very first year in the league! A win in the final game of the regular season today could convince CIF officials to include ESLA at their seeding meeting next Thursday. Stay tuned!
Coach Mauricio’s work with the Middle School Girls Volleyball Team has the campus buzzing. Last Friday, in a double header, our coyotes won a three-set thriller to kick off the evening, and lost a heartbreaker in the nightcap match, bringing their overall record to 3-1.
More importantly, Middle School players are learning teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, all while having fun. With four freshman currently starting on the Varsity team, Middle School players know the future looks bright and arrives quickly.
And now, for the MOST important announcement: The Student Life team would like to walk a group of student fans to the Middle School Volleyball game this Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The game is just a few blocks South of our First Presbyterian campus! Students will earn Red / White points for attending the game.
Please sign the permission slip linked to below and carefully read all the important bullet notes. We’re looking forward to a fun “field trip” this Wednesday!
